Availability, affordability and security of supply of energy besides creation of adequate infrastructure to serve everyone in the country are the challenges for India for sustainable growth.

The growing concern of climate change – rise in global temperature and emissions from the energy sector have brought great focus on initiatives for use of cleaner, greener energy sources and to move away from polluting fossil fuel-based energy sources. Several studies & scenarios on possible future energy transition trends suggest that by 2050 contribution of fossil fuel and renewable energy sources in primary energy mix would be about 50:50. Over 190 countries, NGO’s, international organizations under the support of United Nations have deliberated and suggested action plan under COP15 and COP26 for countries and companies to follow.
